Thank you for visiting the Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN) website.
The WCHN respects the privacy of everyone who accesses our services and information. We adhere to the South Australian Department of Health's Code of Fair Information Practice (which is based on the National Privacy Principles), are bound to confidentiality and Freedom of Information (FOI) requirements, and follow other national and international standards for web site privacy.
Data collected while browsing
The Women's and Children's Health Network does not collect information that can identify any person who visits the site. However, when a person visits the site, our server makes a record of the visit and logs the following information for anonymous reporting of traffic statistics:
- the user's server address
- the user's top level domain name
- the date and time of visit to the site
- the pages accessed and documents downloaded
- the previous site visited
- any search words used
- the type of browser software used.
This information is analysed each month to help us monitor traffic loads and accessibility of the pages on our site. No attempt will be made to identify persons using the site except in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may wish to inspect server log files.
This site uses 'cookies' for maintaining contact with a user during and between web browsing sessions. A cookie is a small file supplied by our server and stored on your computer by your web browser software when you access this site. We use a cookie so that our server can recognise you as a unique user as you move around the site, and when you return to the site on different occasions - this allows us to get a more accurate picture of how many unique users are visiting our site, and how often they come back. Please note that this cookie does not store any personal information about you, and can in no way be used to identify a person.
Your e-mail address
We only record your e-mail address if you send us a message by e-mail. All e-mail addresses are stored securely within the state government e-mail system, and on our site's web server. All email addresses stored on our server are inaccessible to 'spammers'.
Your e-mail address will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it. When you send a message through the 'Contact us' section of our site, your e-mail address and message is forwarded to the appropriate person for a response.
Your e-mail address will not be added to any mailing lists without your permission, and we will not disclose your e-mail address for any other purpose without your written consent, except in the unlikely event of an investigation by a law enforcement agency.
Emails sent to this site are treated as a public record and are retained in accordance with relevant regulations.
