The finals event of the Young Investigator Award was held on Thursday 27 October at the Sanctuary, Adelaide Zoo.
The three finalists presented their research in 'lay language' to a general audience and were judged by a media panel representing television, radio and the press.
The winner of the 2011 Young Investigator Award was:
- Nadira Ruzehaji (PhD candidate, Department of Paediatrics and Reproductive Health, The University of Adelaide and Women’s and Children’s Health Research Institute)
The two runners up were:
- Lachlan Jolly (Grant Funded Scientist, Neurogenetics Research Program SA Pathology - PhD awarded 2010, Biochemistry, The University of Adelaide and Women’s and Children’s Health Research Institute)
- Lisa Nicholas (PhD candidate, Early Origins of Adult Health Research Group, Sansom Institute, University of South Australia)
