Burns Digital Referral Service
This service helps manage the treatment of burns for children who live in remote and rural areas. By virtually supporting their treatment, they often avoid the need to travel long distances to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Naso-Alveolar Moulding (NAM) Service
NAM is a pre-surgical therapy for children born with a cleft lip and/ or palate, which helps direct the growth of the baby’s gums and shaping of the nose using a plate. The joint project between Cleft & Craniofacial SA and the WCHN Paediatric Dentistry Unit empowers families to be involved in their child’s health care and achieves better surgical outcomes.
The Gender Diversity Service Multidisciplinary Team
This team brings together staff from different departments to provide a service which recognises the unique physical, emotional, educational and social needs of gender diverse young people and works collaboratively to support their wellbeing. Feedback from young people has highlighted an improvement in self-esteem, self-worth, confidence and mental health.
