The award supports Strategy 2026 – Realising Potential, Creating Together, which states we will provide holistic support for Aboriginal communities to improve their health and wellbeing
WINNER:
Forensic CAMHS Cultural Programs
This service provides holistically supportive cultural programs to young Aboriginal men and women in custody upon their release to the community through celebration of the rich cultural traditions of Aboriginal people. As a result, individuals in the program have ceased involvement in offending behaviour and positively re-engaged with their community.

Hearing the voice of our Aboriginal Consumers
The Aboriginal Consumer Working Group focuses on building strong and meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, organisations and communities to ensure services are culturally safe, meet their needs and their voices are heard with a key focus on connecting them with their healthcare rights.
Taikurrinthi – Aboriginal Liaison Unit
This team supports families by providing a safe and comfortable environment through cultural support and advocacy. They ensure that Aboriginal consumers stay engaged with the health system and connect them with resources and external agencies to further meet patient and family needs during their stay at the WCH.
