Acknowledgement
The Women’s and Children’s Health Network acknowledges Aboriginal people as the First Peoples and Traditional Custodians of Country throughout South Australia. We acknowledge and respect their ongoing and deep spiritual connection and relationship to land, air, sea, waters, community and country. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Volunteering at WCHN

WCHN volunteers 4

Volunteering at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network is fun and rewarding. It’s also a great opportunity for you to create social connections, offer your skills and gain life experience.

At the workplace

Our volunteers make a significant contribution to the work of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, and are highly valued by staff, consumers and families.

Generally, our volunteers are engaged between 8am—4.00pm, Monday to Friday.

All volunteers have an appointed workplace supervisor and are supported by the Volunteer Unit.

We ensure all our volunteer roles complement the work of paid staff and do not replace paid labour.

Who can volunteer?

To volunteer with us you must be over 18 years of age and committed to providing a high level of service to our clients, families and staff.

As a volunteer, you will need to commit to:

  • approximately one 4 hour shift per week
  • volunteering for at least 6 months, and
  • taking part in training.

Your skills, experience and abilities are matched with roles we have available. Although we make every effort to consider your preferences we ask you to be flexible with your placement.

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network is an inclusive and equal opportunity workplace.
