Tori, Theodora, and Kiana (pictured) share a special bond of motherly support since they first met at their Early Parenting Group, run by the Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS).

Each of the new mums have enjoyed a number of CaFHS services available, beginning with their baby’s 1–4 week health and development check which was conducted as a home visit.

"It was so reassuring to have a nurse right there, letting me know I was doing a fantastic job as it was my first baby." said Tori.

Tori was soon able to share her own breastfeeding experiences with Theodora and Kiana as she was welcomed into the Early Parenting Group.

She has felt her self-confidence flourish ever since.

With each session, the group has strengthened their support for each other during their parenting journey and are happy to have dedicated time to ask a qualified nurse about their child’s health and development.

As the new mothers continue to bounce off each other with their experiences and tips, they cherish the bond they’ve built while they celebrate the wins along the way.

Attendees can expect to hear about several important topics when attending a CaFHS Early Parenting Group, which include:

If you are unable to attend face-to-face sessions, CaFHS also offers virtual groups where you can connect with other parents and carers online.

Early Parenting Groups are available to parents/carers of babies from six weeks to four months of age and are a great way to meet other families, share ideas, and find out about other support available.
