The Women’s and Children’s Health Network acknowledges Aboriginal people as the First Peoples and Traditional Custodians of Country throughout South Australia. Centre for Education and Training

The Centre for Education is an inter-professional service in the WCHN that provides learning and professional development opportunities to all WCHN staff through formal learning, coaching/mentoring support and access to facilities and resources.

The Centre for Education consists of three teams that are committed to ensuring that all staff have the opportunity to apply new learning to their specific workplace and continuously improve practice to deliver safe, quality services and care. The three teams are:

  • Learning and Organisational Team
  • Nursing and Midwifery Education Team
  • Digital Learning and Design Team

Transition to Professional Practice Programs

The Centre for Education and Training facilitates Transition to Professional Practice Programs for Registered Enrolled Nurses and Registered Midwives. These programs include transition support, education and clinical experiences.

Sydney Child Health Program (formerly Diploma in Child Health)

The Women's and Children's Hospital is no longer running the Diploma in Child Health Course.

The Sydney Children's Hospital Network do offer the Sydney Child Health Program – please see the link to their website for more information about their course:

Online education

The Centre has made exciting developments in providing online learning for health professionals and allied staff within and external to the WCHN. These can be accessed for SA Health staff at:
